Cinematic Referances

Session Notes Using the Christmas break to watch many of the films that I personally wanted to watch and gain inspiration to visually interrupt concept such as lucid nightmares, idealism etc ... One such film, in particular, is the 1985 dystopian film "Brazil". After finally watching this film carefully in order to truly understand the mindset of the protagonist of the film and his journey. I have found the character of this film is an excellent example of a modern-day person who appears to be caught in a dead-end position and resort to escapism whether it be drugs, films, dreaming or other forms of escapism to find their version of "paradise". Concept Evolution

Session Notes Returning to meet Paul Hazel once more, I understood that during our conversation and slight debate my original actions of having each image serve as a visual representation of a psychological or dream state lacked any narrative, creating weak images. So some of the keywords I absorbed from Pauls words were to... Make a visual narrative (comic book) of individual character on the airship. Each person will represent different aspects of lucid nightmares, isolations. The airship is the visual key that links each scene together. Escapism is a form of stimulation and vitiation mentally and physically. Further, as I returned home I contemplated on the narrative for these images since telling a story is an effective and simpler method of getting my points of self-awareness for your environment across.
